Therapist – Contract (National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP), Jefferson County, Kentucky)
Salary: $100 per hour of required therapy (2–3 hours per month per youth, based on youth level).
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Clinical Supervisor or designee, this position works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families served. The role provides counseling or therapy, advocacy, and support to youth, families, foster parents, and community partners, aiming for safe and successful community living.
Responsibilities
- Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Provides appropriate individual, group, and family mental health services, case management, transportation, and other professional services, meeting or exceeding established outcomes thresholds.
- Travels daily to provide community based services in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
- Completes all required documentation, training and achieves productivity thresholds.
- Coordinates and monitors services for the youth and family in the community, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services.
- Regularly reviews and modifies youth-based plans to assure consistent progress.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with assigned foster parents and families of origin.
- Assists in family reunification or stabilization efforts consistent with the youth’s case plan.
- Provides safety assessment, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services.
- Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement activities on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Actively participates in the weekly supervision process.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
- 2 years of work experience in direct service with youth and families strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and good driving record.
- A willingness to work flexible and non‑traditional hours to serve foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served.
- Capacity to be flexible, responsive, objective, professional, and respectful in all aspects of the job.
- Proficient use of desktop/laptop computers, smartphones, tablets, printers, fax machines and software including word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability.
