Description
Manage and direct the activities of the pharmacy department, in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy.
Assists in departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Assists in the staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

- Minimum Education
:
Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy - required - Doctor of Pharmacy degree - Preferred
- Minimum Education
:
At least 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or completion of 1-year post-graduate residency - Preferred - Required Skills
:
Requires critical-thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. - Required Skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required Skills

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required Skills

Licenses:
Kentucky state license to practice pharmacy in good standing
