Welder Lead (Night Shift)
Shift: Nights (4:00pm – 3:00am; Sunday – Thursday). Position includes a $3.00 night shift differential.
Starting pay is based on experience and skill evaluations. Sign‑on bonuses are available for all hourly manufacturing personnel.
Job SummaryThe Welder Lead is responsible for using MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules. The Welder Lead supervises the welding team in an active working role during shifts.
Job Duties- Prepares and sets up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
- Arranges parts for welding and staging processes.
- Builds welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.
- Reports fabrication issues and assists in resolutions as required.
- Participates in and attends cross‑functional meetings as required.
- Supports the QA department with respect to jig & fixture evaluation.
- Ensures compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
- Operates other necessary equipment and performs tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications.
- Performs additional duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- All candidates must be willing and able to train on Day Shift prior to the designated offered shift.
- Must have MIG/GMAW welding experience and ability to read blueprints.
- 2‑3 years of experience in welding and/or completion of a welding course or AWS certification.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and testing.
- Ability to stand/walk 95% of the work day.
- Lift up to 50 pounds with assistance from overhead cranes or co‑workers.
- Twist, reach and bend frequently.
- Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine).
- Possess depth perception and peripheral vision.
- Possess the ability to hear.
- Possess the ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
- Subject to standing on hard surfaces up to 12 hours per day.
- Exposure to hot and cold conditions, noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery.
