Job Summary:

• Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function
• Reports to Director of Emergency Services

Essential Functions:

• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
• Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
• Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels
• Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints
• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Clark in all interactions with staff, visitors, and the community
• Communicates expectations set forth by directors to serve as a link between administration and staff nurses in the absence of the director
• Communication is expected to be effective and efficient within the organization, frequent rounding to all units while promoting leadership service excellence

Required Skills:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Education:

• Associate's degree nursing (ADN), required
• Bachelor's degree nursing (BSN), preferred

Licensure/Certification s:

• Valid and current Kentucky RN state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), preferred
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), preferred
• Specialty certification, preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC instructor certification, preferred
