Job Description - RN Labor and Delivery – Full Time – NIGHTS - $6K Bonus - (1610790)

Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester an 18 minute drive from Lexington, KY is searching for an RN Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit called the Center for Women and Babies. This is a Full‑time position on Night shift 7p‑7a and you would be a member of a highly skilled team of nurses. Your graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current RN license, current BLS certification, and obstetrical or neonatal coursework are the minimum requirements.

- As an RN you will ensure delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes
- Revises plan of patient care as needed
- Provides compassion to the patient and the patient’s family members
- Attends staff meetings as needed
- Every patient entering the unit shall be assessed and priorities of care determined in accordance with physical and psychological needs, assessment shall include systematic and pertinent collection of data about the health status of the patient
- Ensure that necessary supplies and equipment be available for patient care
- Assure the safety of patients, co‑workers, significant others, and themselves
- Interventions taken are based on changing patient needs and are implemented in a safe/effective manner
- Teaching shall be an ongoing process that includes provision of information about the patient’s condition, patient and significant other responsibilities, and options and recommendations for appropriate follow‑up
- Demonstrates commitment to education and sharing of knowledge through interaction with orienting nurses, students and pre‑hospital care providers
- Maintain competence and current adherence to established standards of practice
- Work other than usual areas as needed if qualified for duties required
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- All Labor and Delivery trained nurses must show proof of having taken or completed the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nurses Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course within 1 year of hire
- Currently licensed in the State of Kentucky
- BLS certified, NRP within 6 months of hire
- NRP certified within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- 6 months as Labor & Delivery RN experience preferred
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Will schedule on‑call shifts to meet staffing requirements when acuity and/or census indicate need
