American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details- 13-week travel assignment on a 36-bed Med/Surg unit in a community hospital setting
- Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Patient ratios of 5:1 and 6:1 with frequent admissions and discharges on day shift
- Patient population ranges from age 18 to geriatric
- Floating to step-down units required to support Med/Surg coverage as needed
- Uses Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, JP drains, Hemovac drains, NG tubes, and PEG tubes
- Documents using the Med Host EHR system
- Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- ADN or BSN required
- Experience with IVs, NG tubes, PICC and central line care, and catheter care required
- Experience providing post-op surgical care for general surgery, total knee and hip replacement, hernia repair, and colectomy patients required
- Preferred experience with foley catheters, IV insertion, telemetry, tube feeding, and stroke care
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Care for patients with diagnoses including total joint replacement, general surgery, COPD, diabetes, dementia, dialysis, stroke, NSTEMI, CHF, and A-Fib
- Team-oriented environment requiring a self-starter mentality
- Navy and black scrubs required; casual wear and Crocs not permitted
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
