Clinical Associate, Float Pool day shift

Position: Clinical Associate, Float Pool – 36 hours/week, day shift

*** Winchester Hospital is a 5x Magnet designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 223-bed regional hospital that is the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area.

* Schedule:

36 hours/week, day shift, including weekend and holiday rotations
** Working under the direction of a nurse, the Clinical Associate contributes to the Hospital’s mission by performing basic procedures necessary to provide patients’ care, comfort, and safety.  This clinical staff position will have an impact on the quality of care and patient satisfaction by providing for their physical and emotional needs.

As a Clinical Associate at Winchester Hospital, you will be responsible (but not limited to) for the following:
* Assisting with activities of daily living
* Repositioning and ambulating patients
* Making  an occupied and unoccupied bed
* Assisting in transporting patients, beds, supplies and equipment
* Collecting, labeling and transporting specimens
* Retrieving and signing out blood products
* Accurately performs point of care testing
* Obtains vital signs and weights
* Maintains accurate intake and output measurements
* Removes Foley catheters and saline locks

Education Required:

High school diploma/equivalent is strongly preferred

Certifications**:
** BLS – Basic Life Support Must have/be one of the following:
* Certified Nursing Assistant
* Nursing Student with completion of one medical-surgical clinical rotation
* Three months of clinical care experience
* Successful completion of the Winchester Hospital:
Clinical Associate Training Program (CATP)
Other Skills/Knowledge:

Required:

For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team Preferred:
Basic computer skills

*** Pay Range:**$19.50 – $26.24

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.##
