Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas serves the Southern Middle Tennessee communities through comprehensive, high‑quality post acute and skilled care services. The facility offers a 157‑bed acute care setting as well as a 41‑bed skilled nursing unit, supported by a certified medical staff and a range of specialized services.

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
• Performs care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care accurately and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support.
• Evalues learning needs of patients and families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May perform duties of CNA, MA, LPN, or other nursing staff on occasion.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in‑service training, projects, and committees as assigned.
• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas.
• Works scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary, and accepts all call schedules as directed.
• Maintains a neat, professional appearance in compliance with the dress code.
• Performs job duties with knowledge of occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.
• Reports to the Director of Skilled Care.

Associate’s degree in nursing (or higher).

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed RN from a Compact State with proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
