Overview

Customer Service/Sales role at The Home Depot based in Winchester, TN. This position provides fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Associates learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to help them with projects. They greet, qualify, recommend, and close sales in their department and handle basics in adjacent departments.

Responsibilities include maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas and ensuring these areas are clean, shop-able, and safe. All associates follow safety policies and standards, complete required safety training, correct hazards or unsafe conditions, or report them to the Manager on Duty, while working safely to avoid endangering themselves, coworkers, vendors, or customers. This role works in cooperation with the Department Supervisor and other department associates, and may involve multiple store departments such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing and Tool Rental.

The position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

• Greet, qualify, and assist customers to determine product needs and close sales in their department.
• Maintain in-stock condition of assigned areas; keep areas clean, shop-able, and safe.
• Follow all safety policies and complete safety training; report hazards or unsafe conditions to management.
• Collaborate with Department Supervisors and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth operations.
• Learn product information using company tools to effectively advise customers and sell products for projects.
