Head Receptionist

Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part‑Time Head Receptionist to join our team at Mildmay Veterinary Hospital! This is a job‑share position to provide management to the reception team with secondary responsibility for all insurance claims across our three Mildmay practices. Ideally, we are looking for cover on Monday‑Wednesday and Friday afternoons, circa 20 hours per week.

As a Head Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. You will manage the reception team, oversee the administration functions within the team, effect successful communication cascades, drive the recruitment cycle, deal with complaints, and keep up to date with new business initiatives.

We are looking for someone who is detail‑oriented, has excellent communication and organisational skills, and strong leadership skills. Previous experience managing a team and receptionist or customer‑facing experience is required. Veterinary industry experience would also be highly beneficial.

The ability to remain calm under pressure and show empathy in each situation you encounter, from sharing the excitement of a puppy's first visit to the vets or comforting a client who has received some bad news, is essential.
