Are you highly organised, proactive and skilled at helping others manage complex workloads?

The University of Winchester is seeking a Workplace Support Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support to a Senior Lecturer in Social Work within the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing. This role is funded through the Access to Work scheme and is designed to enable the lecturer to undertake their academic responsibilities effectively.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has excellent organisational skills and can provide practical support in a higher education environment.

Working closely with the Senior Lecturer, you will provide a range of administrative, organisational and communication support to help manage a busy academic workload. You will be a trusted professional who can work with discretion, initiative and attention to detail.

The role requires someone who can be flexible, organise information, prioritise tasks, support planning activities and help ensure that key actions and deadlines are effectively managed.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the success and wellbeing of a valued academic colleague while contributing to the education of future social workers.

You will join a supportive Faculty team, committed to inclusion, collaboration and excellence in teaching, learning and professional practice.

This post is fixed term until January 2029 or may end earlier if the requirement for support ceases.

* The Living Wage is offered at the University’s discretion and may be reviewed at any time and does not constitute a contractual entitlement.

As an employee at the University of Winchester, we are committed to your wellbeing and development. You will have access to a wide range of benefits and support including:

  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Holiday entitlement of 21 days per year rising by 5 days after 5 years’ service and the option to buy extra leave up to a maximum of 35 days (pro rata'd for part time hours)
  • Discounts at many retailers, restaurants and entertainment
  • Free wellbeing events including weekly exercise classes
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • On site gym and sports facilities
