About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways project in Winchester. This is a freelance role for a hands-on engineer with strong civils, earthworks, and structures experience. The role will provide exposure to a high-profile infrastructure project, working closely with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee day-to-day site operations on a major highways project.

Carry out setting out and surveying activities accurately.

Support project delivery for civils, earthworks, and structures.

Assist with quantity surveying (QS) tasks, including measurement, cost monitoring, and reporting.

Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

Utilize Dalux software for site documentation, reporting, and coordination (desirable).

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards.
Essential Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major highways or civil infrastructure projects.

Strong civils, earthworks, and structures knowledge.

Previous experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors preferred.

Setting out experience is a must.

Experience with quantity surveying (QS) tasks on-site.

Competent with site software, ideally Dalux.

Eligible for CIS payment (freelance).
