Architect and Technologist - Winchester

My client, an award-winning AJ100 architectural practice, is seeking an Architect / Architectural Technologist with 2+ years’ post-qualification experience to join their Winchester studio, working on bespoke high-end residential projects across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected, design‑led practice known for delivering beautifully crafted private residential schemes.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in residential technical detailing and a strong interest in bespoke residential architecture. You will contribute across a range of RIBA work stages and should have a good understanding of construction detailing, UK building regulations, and project delivery processes.

The role would suit someone who is confident working both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail. Experience using Archi

CAD would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.

Previous experience in classical architecture is not essential; however, an appreciation and interest in traditional and classical design principles would be beneficial.

Key Requirements
  • 2+ years’ post‑qualification professional experience
  • Good technical knowledge of residential construction and detailing
  • Experience contributing to projects across a range of RIBA stages
  • Understanding of UK planning policy, building regulations, and construction methods
  • Strong design and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines
  • Willingness to travel within the UK as required
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working on bespoke or high‑end residential projects
  • Working knowledge of traditional and classical architecture
  • Experience using ArchiCAD
In Return

My client offers a competitive package alongside the opportunity to work within a highly regarded AJ100 practice on beautifully crafted residential projects. Benefits include:

  • Hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days from home)
  • Death in service benefit
  • Enhanced annual leave entitlement
  • Regular team‑building and social events
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities
  • A collaborative and supportive studio environment
