SEN Learning Support Assistant Winchester
Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a warm and inclusive school in Winchester
. You will be supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, manage emotions, and make positive progress in a safe and structured environment. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in a child's school experience. Whether you have worked in care, support, youth work, SEND, or are a graduate seeking hands‑on experience in education, this role will give you the opportunity to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils who need consistency and patience.
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEND needs
- Assist with small‑group interventions and classroom learning
- Help pupils regulate emotions, stay on task, and build essential skills
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement supportive strategies
- Encourage independence, resilience, and positive social interactions
- Contribute to a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and daily routines
- Experience with SEND, care, youth work, or support roles
- Calm, patient, and positive in challenging situations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust
- Passionate about helping pupils grow academically and emotionally
- Graduates in psychology, criminology, education, or related fields welcome
- Adaptable and confident working with different year groups

Full‑time/Part‑time - Pay: £14.66 - £15.66 per hour
- Contract:

- Experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals preferred
- Training in safeguarding can be provided
- Understanding of SEND strategies beneficial
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two professional references
