An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, creative and committed Special Needs Class Teacher to join a well-established specialist primary setting.
The school supports children aged 4–11 with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs. Pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and present with a variety of needs including:
Moderate learning difficulties (MLD)
Autism spectrum condition (ASC)
Speech, language and communication needs
Associated sensory and social communication differences
Classes are small and supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, enabling staff to deliver highly personalised learning and provide the consistent structure and support pupils need to thrive.
This is a rewarding role for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every child reach their potential both academically and socially.
The Role
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other professionals
Contribute to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
Track pupil progress and adapt teaching approaches accordingly
Support pupils’ communication, independence and emotional development
The Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Has experience working with children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
Demonstrates patience, creativity and resilience
Has strong classroom management and a nurturing teaching approach
Works well as part of a collaborative team
Is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
