We are looking for an Attendance and Admissions Officer to join our team. This is an important and varied role at the heart of school life, supporting our pupils and families while ensuring our attendance and admissions processes run smoothly and effectively.
About the roleWorking closely with the Assistant Headteacher, you will provide effective administrative support across pupil attendance and admissions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring daily pupil attendance and punctuality, maintaining accurate records.
- Communicating confidently and professionally with parents and carers regarding absence and attendance concerns.
- Identifying attendance concerns and supporting strategies to improve attendance.
- Carry out home visits to support families with reintegration to school.
- Monitoring pupils who are persistently or severely absent and ensuring appropriate records and interventions are maintained.
- Preparing attendance information, correspondence, reports and documentation.
- Liaising with families, safeguarding colleagues and external agencies
- Managing pupil admissions and leaver processes, including in-year admissions.
- Liaising with parents, previous schools, Hampshire Local Authority and other relevant agencies.
- Coordinating paperwork and welcome information for new pupils and families and supporting transition activities.
- Ensuring pupil information is updated accurately and promptly on the school's Management Information System.
- Providing a professional first point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies, while handling confidential information appropriately.
