Job Description & How to Apply Below
Overview
As part of the growth of my clients' business, they are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join their team on a permanent full time basis.
My client does not currently have a civil engineering team in house, so this opportunity will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of the business, starting a team of civil engineers within a well established structural engineer company.
Responsibilities- Lead the civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project and client requirements.
- Produce and oversee the civil engineering work packages for a range of projects, from initial concept through to completion, preparing calculation packages for Building Control submission.
- Deliver work on time and within agreed fees, as well as preparing client proposals and establishing design philosophies.
- Manage team members technically and assist in organising the wider team's tasks and contribute to the monthly financials of the team.
- Assist in starting a civil engineering team; opportunities to undertake marketing and business development activities if this is of interest.
- The majority of the civil engineering projects are won through the structural engineering team, so there would be no initial expectation to win work.
- Engineering degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- A good level of relevant experience.
- Full clean driving license.
- Able to demonstrate strong design experience in a range of civil engineering areas, including:
- Below ground drainage design including SUDS
- Flood risk assessments

- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civils 3D & Microdrainage (or similar)
- High quality oral and written communications
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills.
- Experience in running projects, client-facing roles, surveys, and site inspections.
- Able to provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers as the team expands.
- Salary is negotiable depending on skill and experience.
- 25 days paid annual leave.
- Pension contribution.
- Company bonus scheme based on performance.
- Private health care.
- Paid subscription to one professional body
