Overview
Senior Electrical Engineer role in Winchester, leading building services design for a multidisciplinary consultancy. This full‑time permanent position involves managing electrical engineering across defence, healthcare, education and commercial projects, developing technical solutions, overseeing delivery, and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities- Deliver electrical building services designs across a range of sectors.
- Produce detailed electrical design solutions, calculations and technical documentation.
- Develop designs using industry‑standard software, including CAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux and Relux.
- Attend client meetings and liaise with project stakeholders.
- Present designs for stage reviews and technical peer reviews.
- Undertake condition surveys and produce technical reports.
- Carry out third‑party design reviews where required.
- Manage projects from inception to completion.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers, architects, contractors and other consultants.
- Ensure designs comply with current legislation, Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers.
- Experience with in an electrical building services design role (consultancy or contractor).
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services systems.
- Experience producing electrical calculations and specifications.
- Proficiency with software including Amtech, Dialux, Relux, AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience working across a variety of sectors.
- Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ideally Chartered Engineer status or working towards CEng.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive approach with a desire to continue developing professionally.
