This role is for a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Winchester, working within a multidisciplinary consultancy. The permanent position offers a salary between £30,000 and £45,000 per annum.

You will deliver sustainable mechanical and electrical design solutions across various sectors, including education, commercial, and healthcare.

Responsibilities
  • Produce Mechanical Building Services designs from concept through to detailed design.
  • Design HVAC, heating, ventilation, cooling and public health systems.
  • Prepare technical calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation.
  • Attend client, design and technical coordination meetings.
  • Liaise with architects, structural engineers, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, British Standards and health and safety legislation.
  • Provide advice on sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Carry out building surveys and produce technical reports with recommendations.
  • Support the delivery of projects through construction and installation phases.
  • Produce and develop designs using industry-standard software including Revit, AutoCAD, IES and Hevacomp.
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with in a Mechanical Building Services Design role.
  • Consultancy or contractor design experience.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Building Services design principles.
  • Experience using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES and Hevacomp.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to continue developing professionally.
