The Associate Mechanical Engineer will join the Winchester office of RGB, a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering integrated design solutions across the built environment. This permanent role offers a salary between £60,000 and £70,000 per annum. You will lead the Mechanical team within Building Services, overseeing projects across defence, healthcare, education, residential, and commercial sectors.
Responsibilities include producing sustainable, technically robust designs from concept to completion, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities- Lead Mechanical Building Services projects across multiple sectors.
- Manage and coordinate Mechanical design teams throughout all project stages.
- Act as the lead Mechanical Engineer, delivering concept through to detailed design.
- Develop Mechanical Building Services designs, specifications and technical reports.
- Produce and review calculations, drawings and design documentation.
- Manage project programmes, resources, budgets and commercial performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other consultants.
- Mentor, develop and support junior engineers and technicians.
- Ensure projects comply with current legislation, Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Building Services team.
- Significant experience within Mechanical Building Services Design.
- Consultancy or contractor design experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary MEP projects.
- Strong client-facing and project management skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and risk.
- HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Working towards or already achieved IEng or CEng status.
- Experience using industry-standard design software, including Revit and CAD.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A proactive approach with a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
