As a Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will work on new and existing projects across southern England, with a focus on Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigations. You will join our geo-environmental consultancy team and build on your early career experience while taking on more responsibility in a supportive environment.

You will work on a wide range of projects, largely involving the redevelopment of brownfield sites. Our sectors include residential, education, manufacturing, defence and motor sport.

What Youll Be Doing
  • Plan, deliver and report on Phase 1 and Phase 2 geo-environmental and geotechnical site investigations.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, Ridge teams, regulators and other project stakeholders.
  • Log soil and rock samples to a consistent and competent standard.
  • Schedule and manage laboratory testing.
  • Carry out soil and groundwater risk assessments.
  • Work with colleagues, clients and contractors on site and in the office.
  • Help deliver projects while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills.
The Skills And Experience Were Looking For
  • A relevant degree in geology, environmental science or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification would be beneficial.
  • One to three years experience in a geo-environmental or related consultancy role.
  • A willingness to take ownership of your work and take pride in what you deliver.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills, with good attention to detail.
  • A good working knowledge of current contamination topics, guidance and legislation.
  • Experience of, or exposure to, asbestos regulations, testing and risk assessment would be beneficial.
  • Sound geotechnical knowledge, including soil and rock logging.
  • A full UK driving licence and regular use of a car.

You will work regularly with other Ridge disciplines, including civil engineering, structural engineering, planning, sustainability and architecture. We will also support you with progression towards chartered status.
