Position: Part-time Finance Assistant - Education Sector
Your new company A well-established educational setting is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to provide interim work within its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with previous school finance experience and strong working knowledge of FMS to join a supportive environment during a busy and important period of the academic year. Your new role Reporting to the Strategic Finance Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the school, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and assisting with key year-end finance activities.

Duties will include:
Processing purchase orders, invoices and journals using FMS. Maintaining supplier records and resolving invoice queries. Processing BACS payments and supporting creditor management. Raising invoices and supporting income collection processes. Reconciling bank accounts and purchasing card statements. Supporting budget monitoring and financial reporting activities. Administering Parent Pay and assisting with income reconciliation. Assisting with statutory returns and year-end financial procedures. What you'll need to succeed Previous experience working within a school finance environment.

Working knowledge of FMS is essential. Experience processing purchase orders, invoices and reconciliations. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively. Knowledge of Parent Pay and SIMS would be advantageous.
