The role- Work across housing, rural development, commercial schemes, appeals and local plan representations. Depending on seniority, you will lead or support instructions from initial appraisal to determination and beyond.
- Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.
- Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.
- Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.
- Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.
- Review work produced by junior colleagues and support their development.
- Contribute to fee proposals, client development and the commercial management of projects.
Mrtpi preferred; strong application management; sound knowledge of planning policy and appeals. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.
Package and working arrangementsThe salary is £45,000–£56,000 plus benefits. The wider package includes flexible working, pension, professional fees and genuine autonomy. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
