Senior Stylist

The senior stylist has been a stylist for a minimum of a year and has shown the ability to retain clients and continue their hairdressing personal development. They take responsibility for the company hairdressing image on a daily and ongoing basis. Their relationship with fellow workers and customers, both in terms of the services provided and the personal relationships created, is vital to the business.

• Guidance and advice to clients on appropriate styles for hair
• Consultation on products and hair analysis
• Cutting and styling to the Haringtons standard and style
• Demonstrates an excellent level of creativity
• Participation in internal and external events

• Recommend products as appropriate
• Achieve a high level of retail sales
• Encourage ongoing loyalty from existing customers to achieve targets
• Develop new customer relationships to add to portfolio
• Use Recommend a Friend program
• Proven retail and business skills – retail sales 12% and colour 30%
• Understand key business processes
• Conduct training sessions
• Attend art team demos

• Attain a target of 35 clients per week

• High level of expertise and knowledge of the hairdressing industry
• Ongoing desire to improve and build on skill set
• Demonstrate personal style and appearance consistent with Haringtons image
• Excellent team player
• Willingness to coach other members of staff
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Quality and detail oriented with high standards
• Good time management skills
• Understanding of Health & Safety standards required in the salon
• Encourages salon etiquette at all times

• Qualification to level 3 NVQ or 4 years minimum hairdressing experience
• 1+ year as a stylist
• Successful completion of either the Haringtons Training programme or an equivalent salon
• Successful completion of the Varder programme

• Work towards completing their Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals and key skills in hairdressing
• Attend all internal and external training sessions
• Work diligently to reach the standards required to qualify as a stylist or a technician
• Provide models for model sessions
• Take all opportunities for self‑development learning opportunities

• Full and conscientious participation in the duties expected of an Apprentice, e.g., assist clients and care for their needs
• Advise clients on retail products
• Shampoo clients
• Assist the stylists whenever required
• Help on reception when required
• Assist with stock on request
• Weekly cleaning duties as allocated by the head Apprentice

• A strong flair for hairdressing
• Personal style and appearance consistent with Haringtons image
• Good team player who contributes to the salon and helps make it a great place to work
• Conscientious approach to working
• Ability to accept constructive feedback and learn from it
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability at all times
• Cheerful, professional attitude at all times
• Keeping to salon etiquette at all times
• Understanding and fulfilling all aspects of salon Health and Safety requirements

• Previous experience in a customer‑facing environment desirable
