Looking for a meaningful role where you can genuinely change lives?
We’re seeking a dedicated Medical Caseworker to support post‑16 students at a large, high‑performing sixth form setting. You’ll work closely with students who require tailored medical, pastoral and learning support, ensuring they can access education safely, confidently and independently.

This role requires someone calm, proactive and resilient—someone who can build trust, take initiative and work closely with staff, families and external professionals.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Managing a caseload of students with additional medical and learning needs

• Coordinating transition visits, site orientations and pre‑entry meetings

• Conducting interviews as part of admissions

• Completing assessments and applications for exam access arrangements

• Writing, reviewing and updating personalised support plans

• Liaising with pastoral, teaching and careers teams to remove learning barriers

• Carrying out risk assessments (trips, moving & handling, PEEPs)

• Providing in-class or note‑taking support where required

• Supporting students with mobility needs, practical tasks and personal care

• Assisting with trips, activities and events as needed

• Maintaining accurate records and sharing information with staff as appropriate

• Working closely with families and external professionals

• Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety standards are always prioritised

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting young people with medical, emotional or learning needs

• Strong empathy, communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organisation and administrative ability

• Confidence in managing a demanding caseload

• Ability to stay calm, professional and supportive under pressure

• Understanding of SEMH, medical needs and impact on education

• Willingness to undertake training (moving & handling, personal care etc.)

• Commitment to safeguarding and equality of opportunity

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
