Job Summary
We are currently looking for flexible, adaptable, and reliable Bank Domestic Assistants who may already have some experience working within a hospital or care setting, to work as part of our friendly and growing team. You will become part of a dedicated team who are passionate about supporting the NHS and its staff in their vital work by keeping premises clean, safe and hygienic.
Bank contracts are great for those who need a bit more flexibility or an ideal opportunity to come in and try a role to see if it suits you before looking at a permanent contract. Successful candidates will be expected to work across the Basingstoke site, carrying out services in a professional, efficient, friendly and polite manner.
Typical Shift times are 7.30am to 3.30pm, 12.00 midday to 8.00pm, 5.00pm to 8.00pm or 10.00pm and 5.50pm to 1.30am over 7 days per week. There may be some flexibility offered with these hours.

What would you do?- Vacuum cleaning; mopping; dusting, cleaning mirrors, baths, showers, sinks, toilets, washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork; walls and ceilings; emptying and cleaning bins and making sure paper towels, toilet tissue, and hand soap dispensers are replenished.
- If you are working in a ward you will usually have additional duties such as washing up and cleaning the kitchen, helping to serve drinks, and some basic laundry duties.
- No prior experience required; full training and support will be provided.
- Looking for people with the right values who want to make a difference and play a part in providing excellent care.
- Basic level of English to speak to patients, visitors, staff, report issues, and keep basic records.
- Role is physically demanding: moving/using equipment, furniture, stretching, reaching, bending, repetitive movement.
- Will be exposed to dirt, dust, and smell.

- Good general education at GCSE level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations, manual handling, health and safety, and Infection Control procedures.
- Autonomous application of knowledge, skills & experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, ward staff and Domestic Team.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Will be willing to work flexible hours and manage a pressured workload; occasional need to support service across site for escalation and training purposes.
- NVQ or Customer care training.
- Experience working within a healthcare environment.
- Experience in using floor machinery.
