Description

We are seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Co-ordinator to join our Finance & HR Team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll, employee benefits and HR administration across the practice.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider Finance & HR Team, you will play a key role in coordinating the monthly payroll cycle, administering employee benefits and supporting colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle. You will act as a trusted first point of contact for staff queries, ensuring payroll, records and HR processes are managed accurately, confidentially and in line with current legislation and best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the monthly payroll process using Sage Payroll, including data validation, statutory submissions, payments and employee communications.
  • Maintain PAYE records and support year-end payroll processes, ensuring all statutory requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Administer pensions, salary sacrifice arrangements, benefits, statutory payments and other employee benefit schemes.
  • Provide first-line HR advice and administrative support to employees and managers on routine HR matters.
  • Prepare and maintain employment contracts, correspondence, employee records and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including Right to Work checks, CEST assessments and HR system updates.
  • Support absence management, flexible working arrangements and employee review processes through accurate record keeping and reporting.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations, staff cost reporting, budgeting and workforce planning activities.
  • Ensure employee data is maintained accurately and in compliance with GDPR and internal policies.
What we're looking for
  • Previous payroll administration experience.
  • Knowledge of Sage Payroll.
  • HR administration experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
