£26,000 - £30,000 + Training & Development + Enhanced Pension + 33 Days Holiday + Benefits

Rotating shift pattern. Early (7:30 - 15:30) & Late (14:30 - 22:30)

Excellent opportunity for a practical, hands‑on individual looking to step into engineering and join a friendly and supportive estates team within a well‑established Multi Academy Trust. You can utilise your skills and continue your training as part of a close‑knit team of specialists.

This Trust is a respected and community‑focused education provider with a strong reputation for creating safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained environments. The Estates Team plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of multiple school sites, supporting both the day‑to‑day running of the schools and wider community activities.

As an Estates Maintenance Technician, you’ll work across several sites carrying out a wide range of maintenance and caretaking duties. You’ll report to the Deputy Estates Manager, support the upkeep, repair, and presentation of buildings and grounds, and help maintain a safe and compliant environment for all users of the site.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out general maintenance and repair work including painting, decorating, carpentry, fencing repairs, and minor grounds maintenance.
  • Provide reactive and preventative maintenance across multiple school sites.
  • Assist with health and safety compliance checks including fire safety, asbestos awareness, legionella monitoring, and risk reporting.
  • Work a rotating shift pattern including early, daytime, and late shifts, with one weekend in four on rota.
Person
  • Strong practical DIY and maintenance skills.
  • Experience with in estates, facilities, caretaking, maintenance, or a similar hands‑on environment beneficial.
  • Comfortable using tools, equipment, and carrying out physical tasks.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable regarding shifts and occasional weekend working.
