Information About The PostPeter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.
We have two sites, the larger of which is near the train station in Winchester and the other, a small distance away in Weeke.
We are looking for a new member to join the large Estates team who look after the attractive grounds and many buildings. You will work full-time hours on a rotating shift pattern, which will include evenings. You will also be required to join a rota to cover some Saturdays, for which additional hours will be paid, as well as on-call commitment.
Duties will include locking and unlocking building, undertaking internal and external maintenance, porterage, driving and other duties as required to keep the buildings and grounds in a good state.
You must be physically fit to undertake manual work. Experience in a maintenance role would be helpful but above all, we are looking for someone with a cheerful and ‘can-do’ attitude, who is ready and able to learn.
Immediate interviews will be arranged for suitable candidates, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy on appointment to this role.
We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding and Prevent training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
Due to the number of applications we receive, we regret that we are unable to respond to all applicants personally. If you have not heard from us by the interview date you should assume that you have not been successful on this occasion. However, we would be very pleased to hear from you again in respect of future vacancies.
Thank you for your interest in working at Peter Symonds College.
