The Gurkha Museum Trust seeks to appoint an experienced, senior freelance consultant to help lead the delivery of its Activity Plan as part of Project Kaida, a major National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported redevelopment. The Activity Plan sets out an ambitious programme of audience development with engagement, participation, and skills activity designed to transform the museum’s reach and impact.
This is a pivotal moment for the project. The Activity Plan is ambitious, well developed, and ready to move forward are now looking for someone who can hit the ground running – bringing energy, structure and momentum, ensuring the programme is fully mobilised, maximised, coordinated and integrated, and ready to support the public gallery reopening.
This is an opportunity to play a central role in shaping how audiences connect with a unique and significant national collection – onsite, offsite, and online, ensuring that the museum opens with a confident, inclusive and fully realised public programme.
The roleThis is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for someone who can turn plans into action. You will take ownership of a £280,000 programme of engagement, participation and skills activity – ensuring that:
- activity is fully planned, coordinated and ready to deliver
- the right structures, processes, and partnerships are in place
- delivery is to the highest standard
- the programme is on track to support a successful reopening
- activity is embedded across the organisation, coordinated and fully integrated across departments, and all team members are collaborating
- funding is deployed effectively and in line with NLHF requirements.
