Sous Chef

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. You’ll be working in a high-spec kitchen with top-quality equipment, including Rational iCombi ovens, and an established, high-performing team. This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week), working 5 days out of 7, with some weekend rotation. Working hours are 7 am–3 pm, or 8 am–4 pm, or 10:30 am–7:30 pm.

• Ensure we deliver an excellent service to customers, creating an inviting and pleasant environment.
• Ensure all food produced meets the agreed standard, develops innovative approaches, and adheres to market trends, cultural requirements, and Kashrut laws.
• Monitor, meet, and record all food hygiene and Health & Safety practices in line with organisational policies and current legislation.
• Work within the agreed budget, administer unit controls and consistently seek and implement ways of improving the quality and cost‑effectiveness of the service.
• Lead, motivate and encourage team building to achieve agreed qualitative outcomes and exceed and maintain customer service expectations.

• Previous experience working within a busy kitchen environment, both independently and as part of a team.
• Appropriate supervisory experience and relevant qualifications for safe delivery of Food & Hygiene or Catering Services (NVQ Level 2 or
  3).
• Energetic, passionate and proactive attitude.
• Experience working to deadlines and adhering to budgetary requirements.
• Understanding of the challenges and sensitivity needed to care and support vulnerable people.
