We have full-time and part-time opportunities available, with both positions offered on a term-time only basis.

Information About The PostPeter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester, proudly rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the college.
We currently have two Student Safety Officer positions available. Working as part of our security team, you will play an important role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and visitors.
Your role will involve patrolling the College grounds and buildings, providing a visible and reassuring security presence, monitoring student behaviour and remaining alert to any concerns or incidents. You will be approachable and supportive while also having the confidence to assert your authority calmly and appropriately when required.
The successful candidates will need to be:
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors and being on their feet throughout the day, in all weather conditions.
- Approachable and able to communicate effectively with young people.
- Confident in dealing with a variety of situations and able to maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Observant, responsible and able to respond calmly and professionally to concerns.
- Committed to creating a safe, respectful and positive environment for our students.
Previous experience in security work is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate the right attitude, reliability, confidence and commitment to working with young people.
