Job Overview
Due to operational demand, you will be required to work Saturday and Sunday according to a local rota/plan. You will drive a multi‑drop van, prepare your route each day using planning technology, and deliver parcels (including election materials, food products, and alcohol) safely and on time. We deliver billions of parcels each year, rain or shine, and you will be part of a team that brings a little brightness to customers’ days.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Parcel Delivery Driver, you are expected to:
- Securely deliver all items on your route, including election materials and items such as food products or alcohol in line with Royal Mail business standards.
- Pre‑plan routes and prepare your van and workload for each day.
- Interact with customers, acting as a positive ambassador for Royal Mail.
- Maintain punctuality, organisation and a high level of customer service.
- Upbeat, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Organised, punctual with great initiative.
- Committed to the delivery of great customer service.
- Comfortable interacting with customers.
- Happy to work in the afternoon and early evenings.
- Enjoy a multi‑drop driving role, delivering parcels across a week in the assigned area.
- Possess a full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- A guaranteed hourly rate of £13.68 per hour (paid monthly and adjusted to your working hours).
- 22.5 days holiday, rising with length of service (adjusted to your working hours if below 37 hours a week).
