The Virginia State Inspector is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles while providing leadership and guidance to other technicians. This role involves advanced mechanical work, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and more
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Conduct thorough inspections and identify potential problems or safety concerns
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues
- Ensure all work is performed following industry standards and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding repair needs and status updates
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive repair preferred
- Extensive experience in automotive repair and diagnostics
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Advanced certifications or specialized training in specific areas of automotive repair (e.g., HVAC, diesel engines)
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent credentials
- Familiarity with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repair procedures
- Virginia State Inspector License (Preferred)

Base pay range$25.00/hr - $35.00/hr
