PRN Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic; CVT Surgeon – weekend call coverage

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call, as-needed coverage for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery services at VHC, Inpatient and ER.
• Manage a limited number of inpatient cases, with a focus on post-operative care and management
• Perform both cardiac and thoracic surgeries as needed, with an emphasis on urgent or emergent procedures
• Maintain a high standard of care and quality in all patient interactions and procedures
• Work collaboratively with mid-level providers for patient care support

• MD or DO
• Currently licensed or able to obtain the license in Virginia
• Successful completion of residency program in Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship training in Cardio or Thoracic Surgery
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Training and familiarity in the use of EPIC (EMR) preferred
