*** Day in the Life of a Substance Abuse Counselor
***** Position Requirements:
**** The most qualified candidates will possess the following:
*** Must hold a Resident in Counseling, LPC, LSATP or LCSW, CSAC License in the state of Virginia.
* Must have at least one year of experience as a substance abuse counselor.
* Experience treating opioid-addicted patients is not a requirement but is preferred.
* No legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program.
* Must have a valid driver's license.
* If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence is required.

* Provides individual counseling to highly complex patients
* Conducts clinical assessments to appropriately assess patient’s treatment needs
* Designs and updates the patient’s treatment plan, including  care coordination, referrals, and discharge planning
* Manages assigned caseload and compliance with clinical treatment requirements
* Collaborates with nurses and providers to provide holistic treatment services
* Facilitates urine drug screening for patients

** 23-29 hours per week**.
* ** Monday: 11:00 am-1:30 pm (Winchester) & 4:00 pm-6:00 pm (Harrisonburg)**
* ** Tuesday: 12:30-6:30 (Winchester)**
* ** Wednesday: 11:00 am-4:00 pm (Harrisonburg)**
* ** Thursday: 9:00 am-12:00 pm (Winchester)**
* ** Friday: 12:30 pm-5:30 pm (Harrisonburg)*
