Job Description
Assists CV lab staff with stress testing as instructed. Places electrodes, maintains records, assists in moving or transporting patient, takes blood pressure and assists with cleaning up and equipment maintenance as instructed. Attaches holder monitor following established procedure – explains procedure to the patient and gives. Selects appropriate electrode sites and attaches electrodes and lead wires securely. Cleans and maintains equipment following established procedure.
Accurately completes patient record and documentation. Prepares and calibrates equipment properly. Completes required hours of continuing education. Meets attendance and punctuality requirements – attends CV Lab staff meetings and other approved seminars. Completes annual recertification in:
Basic Life Support, Fire Safety, Back Care, Infection Control. Reports to work as scheduled, arriving by the start of the scheduled shift. Has no more than three (3) unscheduled periods of absence in a six‑month period. Complies with meal and break policies.
Other performance requirements: communicates effectively with patients, other employees and physicians; performs other duties independently or as requested by the supervisor or department directors; uses hospital resources, time and materials efficiently and responsibly; keeps work areas neat and clean; stores equipment in designated areas and keeps traffic corridors free from obstruction; performs EKGs and completes associated clerical functions following established procedures – verifies the test is ordered and explains procedure to patient;
records diagnostic‑quality EKG including proper placement of electrodes; distributes EKGs after interpretation is complete; cleans and maintains equipment following established procedure; identifies requesting and interpreting physician; pulls patient previous EKGs and places them in the physician e‑box for interpretation; ensures EKGs in the EKG computer and hospital computer system are ordered and resulted properly.

EducationHigh School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience1‑3 years of healthcare/medical experience with direct patient care is preferred.
Certification & LicensuresNew hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation. BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Healthcare Provider (HCP) – AHA approved is required.

- Able to work independently.
- Able to function in a hospital environment and learn skills required to perform prescribed tests on patients of all ages including the neonate, child, adolescent and geriatric patient.
