Position SummaryThe Transportation Driver is responsible for the direct transportation of PACE participants and must maintain constant interaction with participants, caregivers, community agencies, medical providers, and PACE program staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure passenger safety and satisfaction during transport.
- Follow assigned schedule, adjust for unanticipated changes, and communicate adjustments to dispatch.
- Operate equipment safely and in compliance with vehicle licensing regulations.
- Maintain and complete required daily records such as pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and gasoline purchases.
- Immediately report any vehicle or cell phone operating problems, malfunctions, or incidents.
- Transport participants to and from medical/specialist appointments and activity outings as assigned by the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Transport meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy items, and other necessary items for participants.
- Provide physical assistance to participants during boarding and debarking.
- Ensure vehicle equipment operates within manufacturer recommendations and replace supplies as needed.
- Act as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team when appropriate.
- Communicate with Transportation Manager daily regarding participant conditions, plan of care changes, or Interdisciplinary Team requests.
- Follow all BRIH policies, procedures, and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and participant information.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma required.
- Active and up‑to‑date CPR certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population.
- Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up‑to‑date immunizations before direct participant contact.
- Successfully clear Background Check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and Drug Screen.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
