Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary

Provide support in functional areas of human resources including recruitment, employment, personnel records, employee relations, job evaluation, benefits administration, employee development, training, EEO and special projects. Serves as a strategic and tactical business partner to the Plant leadership team. Assist in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings. Prepare reports in conformance with legislated requirements or company needs.

Reports to the Vice President of Resources.

• Provide direction to employees in the resolution of problems, related to benefits, company policies, etc.
• Responsible for employee recruiting and recommend candidates for employment
• Responsible for conducting new employee orientation.
• Assist with employee trainings
• Answering phone calls
• Entering Data in system for Worker’s Compensation.
• Assist with annual benefits open enrollments, submit weekly payroll, and generate records/reports.
• Assist with data entry of insurance enrollment
• Responsible for all policies, procedures and programs relating to human resources, i.e. employment, personnel policies and procedures, employee records, medical, employee benefits administration and employee communication, safety and security.

• Reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication, problem solving.

• High School Graduate / GED
• Superior interpersonal skills and time management.
• Proficient in all MS Office applications.

• Support SQF requirements by maintaining food safety plan and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and Kosher product requirements.
• Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action and or Food Defense issues to the Food Safety and Quality Department.

• Safety is vitally important not only at our facility but also from a personal standpoint. Employees are responsible for understanding and following all safety procedures. Likewise, food safety is a key performance indicator. Understanding this, GMP and housekeeping procedures are to be followed as part of any job at our facility.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment requires mandatory use of ear plugs.
