Cloud Solutions Architect

Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team supporting a program that provides technical services for system development and lifecycle maintenance of an AWS-based microservices system, along with supporting legacy systems and databases. These systems provide efficient, reliable, and secure IT solutions to receive, consolidate, and distribute information in coordination with federal partners. Overall contract support consists of O&M, Help Desk, Dev Ops, Program Management, and software development.

The primary place of performance will be at Government facilities in Winchester, VA with telework options. However, this person will be expected to report on‑site to the Winchester, VA and/or Washington, DC location as needed and requested by the Government for meetings, after‑hours support, deployments, etc.

• Support an AWS database.
• Develop strategies for cloud‑based platforms.
• Translate business needs into long‑term architecture solutions.
• Design and develop solutions as needed, evaluating multiple software platforms and integrating systems.
• Act as highest‑level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
• Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects for management.
• Lead a large development team in the design of highly complex software systems.

• Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least three years working with government Amazon Web Services (AWS) SC2S and C2S enclaves.
• Ability to design automation for cloud resources using Dev Ops best practices.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing scalable microservices, leading development teams, ensuring security measures are in place within the microservices’ design, and conducting meetings and presentations with government stakeholders and leadership.
• Experience with programming (C#, Java, and Python), containerization for managing the deployment of microservices (Kubernetes and Docker), cloud development (AWS), and a robust understanding of microservices development and best practices.
