We are seeking a Senior Outside Property Adjuster in the Winchester, VA territory. This is a remote, full‑time exempt role requiring field investigations.
Position OverviewSenior outside property adjusters handle complex property claims requiring field investigations and/or inspections. They establish rapport with insureds, agents, underwriters, contractors, and experts throughout the territory, and maintain extensive knowledge of local regulations, public‑safety agencies, insurance climate, and public adjusters.
Responsibilities- Handle complex personal and commercial property claims requiring outside field investigations and/or inspections.
- Use discretion and independent judgment in claim handling.
- Apply technical knowledge of products and industry, reflecting progression through the job family.
- Identify possibly suspicious claims.
- Manage claims of greater complexity, severity, and exposures, including litigation, requiring higher investigation, analysis, evaluation, negotiation, and interpretation of commercial coverage.
- Represent the company at mediation, arbitration, and trials as needed.
- Handle all phases of claims, including informal hearings, arbitrations, and litigation, while maintaining confidentiality and customer service.
- Provide training and mentoring to other adjusters.
- 5+ years of adjusting experience.
- Xactimate certification.
- Valid state adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Home‑based internet connection.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Ability to work independently, travel as needed, and perform field work under various conditions.
- Proficiency with MS Office and claims systems (CSS, PMS, etc.).

The target hiring range for this role may vary by geographic location and factors such as merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills required, education, travel requirements, and experience.
