Logistics Technician II/III – Assistant Team Lead – Days (12‑Hour Shift)

Responsibilities- Put safety first—always.
- Work as a team to support our "People First" culture.
- Lead a team of warehouse associates to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Ensure trailers are loaded with the closest material for productive loading.
- Learn and understand all functions in BU 416 (material WIP for railing manufacturing), including unloading, receiving, putaway, and shipping.
- Support clerk activities when needed.
- Utilize TREX YMS system to move trailers to proper destination.
- Support the training and cross‑training of LTs to back up various functions.
- Coordinate order fulfillment activities, ensuring accurate and timely shipments.
- Ensure the team completes safety training on time.
- Work with the RML to train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance (grading plastics (bulk and film), receiving process, change order process, customer needs (VPO and VDAR), and other duties as assigned).
- Communicate any discrepancies and/or performance issues to the RML in a timely manner with recommendations.
- Operate forklift.
- Drive safety compliance and awareness with the people in your area: ensure proper PPE, safe operating practices, housekeeping to eliminate slip/trip hazards.
- Support inventory control activities.
- Facilitate clear communication within the team and collaborate with other departments consistent with Supply Chain standards.
- Learn JDE and RF Smart to support all warehouse operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize warehouse efficiency.
- Other responsibilities assigned by Manager.
- Leadership experience (preferred).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Safety and quality conscious.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must be certified on a forklift (able to learn to operate a G30).
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Microsoft Office preferred but not required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
