Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Manufacturing Production
HP Hood is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Line Technician or similar manufacturing operator. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing production line performance, ensuring quality and safety, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities- Makes controlled adjustments to equipment to optimize line running efficiency.
- Address equipment problems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Identify line bottlenecks and take action to improve throughput.
- Ensure work orders for process improvements and corrective maintenance are generated.
- Maintain documentation associated with operations.
- Operate equipment in accordance with Hood standards for bottle handling.
- Uphold quality, safety, and cleanliness standards within the designated area.
- Ensure all required maintenance is performed.
- Communicate with team members to support efficient plant operations.
- Ensure resources are available for production runs.
- Set up the oncoming shift for a successful run and perform duties as needed to support the team.
- Obtain necessary information at pre-shift meetings and from the outgoing Line Technician.
- Monitor equipment operation for indications of potential problems and opportunities for improvements.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Multi-task and work independently with tasks related to food safety and product quality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 3+ years of manufacturing experience
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and solid mechanical ability
- Good record-keeping and clerical skills
- Good basic math and reading skills
- Experience or training as a forklift operator is desirable
- Adapt to changes in the work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to learn and apply new skills
- Work effectively with team members to achieve department and plant goals
- Lift/Carry up to 35 lbs frequently; heavy lifting (>70 lbs) frequently
- Standing for long periods (8+ hours); sitting occasionally for short periods
- Walking constantly; climbing infrequently; bending frequently
- Arms outstretched; pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs frequently without assistance
- Comply with performance criteria and responsibilities described in the HP Hood Guidebook and site supplements
- Adhere to safety and environmental protocols; maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns
- Comply with GMPs, including dress code standards
- Report to work in a condition to work and communicate tardiness/absences per policy
- Adhere to all food safety and quality requirements and regulatory authorities
- Maintain food safety/quality through sanitation and task execution
- Report food safety problems to authorized personnel
- May be exposed to ingredients or chemicals used in production and sanitation
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. The pay range for this position is $25.99 - $28.37 USD.
