Registered Nurse – Pulmonary Care – First Shift (Per Diem)

Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing nursing process skills to effectively carry out all aspects of the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management. The RN delivers quality communication, teamwork, leadership, and professionalism. They direct, coordinate, and implement patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Responsibilities- Care the population assigned as per unit assignment.
- Complete mandatory yearly competencies and unit specific competencies as identified by the Director.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities, PI activities, and departmental initiatives.
- Communicate and share information with Director/designee and co‑workers.
- Participate in peer review, solicitation of patient/family satisfaction, and development of bulletin board or poster for staff/patients/family education.
PULMONARY CARE – 206142 – Per Diem – First Shift (United States of America)
Education & Experience- Associates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) required.
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Two years of RN experience required.
- RN License required – Virginia Board of Nursing regulations, multi‑state or single‑state license valid in Virginia.
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association (AHA) approved required before orientation.
- Relevant specialty certification preferred.
- Competent in providing care based on the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development.
- Competent to provide care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
- Must have a reliable means of phone communication with hospital.
