ALL ABOUT ON DEMAND:
You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those that are looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app).

When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. Active engagement by picking up and working shifts once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours) is required. Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to attempts to contact you to confirm your interest in working shifts  you do not respond, employment may be terminated.

If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated. Your communication and ability to work when our business demands it are critical to your success in this role. After being offered a position, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. The myTime app is where you can pick up shifts you desire to work.

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

Essential skills include effective communication, staying focused in a fast-paced environment, a welcoming attitude toward guests and team members, attention to detail, willingness to educate guests about products and services, and the ability to use multiple devices and a handheld scanner. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests during daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests to understand and solve their needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to resolve guest issues and improve their experience.
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
  • Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment; direct guests to enroll in fulfillment services when applicable.
  • Explain and help guests use Wallet and Target App features.
  • Assist with returns and follow register prompts, collaborating with leaders as needed while following policies.
  • De-escalate situations and recover guest shopping experiences following policies.
  • Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Keep a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours while remaining available to guests.
  • Uphold safety, ethical conduct, and compliance standards.
  • Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) orders and DU returns, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Assist with Cash Office processes as needed, including cash systems management.
  • All other duties based on business needs.
