Industrial Automation Engineer, Wire & Cable Systems

You will be the authority for PLCs and software driving production equipment in a high-performance wire and cable operation.

• Own PLC and computer software supporting manufacturing assets.
• Build expert knowledge of wire/cable equipment and processes; apply it daily.
• Advise Maintenance on electrical/electronic troubleshooting and reliability.
• Run projects: scope, cost estimating, design/specs, approvals, purchasing, installation, commissioning, budget control, safety, and delivery.
• Direct outside electrical engineering, construction, and consulting providers.
• Manage third-party repairs for critical electronic components.
• Support the Engineering & Maintenance Manager with annual capital and expense budgets.
• Write and debug machine control logic; implement design updates across complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Translate electrical schematics into fast, accurate repairs.
• Use programming devices to diagnose PLC failures and drive improvements.
• Coach electricians on troubleshooting and programming AC/DC drives.
• Apply modern diagnostic tools - electrical test gear and computer-based analysis.
• Maintain thorough documentation and keep secure, redundant backups of all programs.
• Establish and sustain reliable industrial network communications.

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering;
  Associate in Electrical/Electronics preferred for alternative backgrounds.
• 5+ years in manufacturing; wire & cable experience is highly desirable.
• Advanced skills in PLC programming and CAD;
  Wonderware exposure is a plus.
