CPD Technician

Job Description

Performs a variety of tasks related to cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of equipment, instrumentation and supplies required by medical, nursing and paramedical personnel for the care, diagnosis and treatment of patients.

• Education
  :
  High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience
  :
  Previous experience in a health‑care related position required.
• Licensure, Certification, Registration
  :
  Must complete CPD training within 12 months and Instrument Training within 18 months, and obtain Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification within 24 months.
• Language Skills
  :
  Must be able to read and speak English.
• Preferred Education
  :
  Associate’s Degree.
• Preferred Experience
  :
  Prior sterile processing experience;
  Medical terminology.
• Preferred Licensure
  : CSPDT or CRCST Certification upon hire.
• Knowledge, Skills and Ability
  :
  Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, effectively communicate information, basic computer skills (email, basic internet use, data entry and retrieval), follow detailed instructions, organize complex technical assignments, work well under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and recognize problem situations to refer to appropriate staff.

Shift
:
Flex and on‑call coverage. All shift coverage during weekends and holidays.
