Job Summary

The RCP shall be responsible for the assessment, planning, and administration of all respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department. They shall provide these services to all ages in accordance with the Policy and Procedures.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an Advanced Level Respiratory Therapist Educational Program or two (2) year Respiratory college.
Experience: Newly graduated with no previous experience but with 1,000 clinical hours in a hospital setting.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: RRT registered by N.B.R.C., Current CT state licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, ACLS, within 6 months of hire, Current PALS or STABLE Certification and NRP certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills. Demonstrated knowledge to perform pulmonary function testing. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, and managers.
