Lab Technician; Entry Level

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures, produce antigens and reagents, and prepare buffers, media, and solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate internal documentation and performing various housekeeping activities.

• Process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures
• Produce antigens and reagents
• Prepare buffers, media, and solutions
• Complete internal documentation
• Perform housekeeping activities, including waste disposal and glassware preparation

• Laboratory experience
• Cleanroom environment proficiency
• PPE usage
• Aseptic technique
• Hood techniques
• Sterile technique
• Fume hood operation
• Biology knowledge
• Microbiology knowledge
• Pipetting
• Autoclave operation

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted

The work environment includes a manufacturing setting with a start time of 7:30 am and an 8-hour shift with breaks. The job requires regular standing, handling objects, using a microscope, walking, and sitting. Employees must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

The work area can get hot at times.

This is a Permanent position based out of Windham, CT.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Windham,CT.
