GRILL COOK (PART TIME) at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services

Location: Eastern Connecticut State University, 83 Windham Street, Windham, CT 06280

We are hiring immediately for a part‑time Grill Cook position. The role includes preparing food and serving customers at the grill station in line with current standards.

Prepares food and serves customers at the grill station in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high‑quality food service.

• Takes orders from customers and prepares items with short preparation time.
• Serves customers efficiently and friendly, ensuring food is at correct temperature and appealing.
• Tastes all prepared food items.
• Uses ticket‑collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards for quality and portion control.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores foods in designated areas following standard wrapping, dating and food safety procedures.
• Cleans, sanitizes and maintains all assigned work areas, equipment and utensils to meet sanitation standards.
• Resolves customer concerns and reports relevant information to supervisors.
• Attends in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Prior cooking and food service experience is required.

$22.90 per hour.
